The 3B Team emerge from Lockdown
It’s 6 months now since we were all told to stay home, wash our hands and don’t look strangers in the eye! 6 months of working from home - battling invasions by 4 year olds during video conference calls with patient & understanding staff & clients, cats walking across the keyboard and having to listen to the family enjoy the wonderful weather while I plug away in my study. But most of all 6 months since I saw our staff… & I miss them!
So on Tuesday I initiated what I very much hope will be the first of many physical / video staff meetings that will initiate a slow and considered return to the office. Covid concerns - including a recent return from abroad - meant that for the first meet-up only David and Elena trekked to Purley. But what fun - they left late and full of beer, wine and buckets of our (now perfected) voodoo hot wings.
More importantly we actually got to have a team meeting with more than one of us in the same room. Elena always takes lead in these meetings, and it was great to actually be able to hear her properly and not have to keep asking her to repeat herself! David was seemingly more interested in my record collection..!
The next few months - especially as we navigate Winter and the likely spike in infection rates - will be absolutely key. We can reasonably expect trying times - not least as the inevitable economic downturn takes hold - but I’m facing the storm with as much excitement as trepidation; we have the most extraordinary team here at 3B and Jack and I know how lucky we are to be in an industry whose services are likely to be in demand for the foreseeable future. We both know many people who are not so fortunate and to everyone in Theatre, Events, Hospitality and Entertainment in general we send love and strength.
See you on the other side, folks!
